About
About Melissa
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years experience specializing in individuals in the arts.
I trained on-site in college mental health at Smith College, and then spent the majority of my career as Senior Clinical Social Worker at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. I worked on-site at NYU Tisch for over 12 years, providing psychotherapy primarily with actors, filmmakers, writers and other visual and performing artists.
I transitioned to full-time private practice in 2012, and expanded my practice with offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn. In 2018, I provided mental health consulting with the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City, where I conducted assessments, referrals and workshops for students at the UCB Training Center studying improv and sketch comedy.
In 2025, I was approved for licensure in the state of Massachusetts, expanding my practice virtually to MA residents.
